LOVE RAIN DOWN

For all o' y'all who have ever had the blues,
I want you to come sit down for a minute & let me tell you a story
A story about a place called the crossroads
Now the crossroads is a place where people go
When they want sumn'...real bad
Well this is a story about a little boy
Who went to that place...
And this lil' boy was named Johnny
And lil' Johnny went down to the Crossroads
Where people don't usually go
And he saw standing there a tall man dressed in a dark coat
It was the devil himself
And Johnny walked up to the devil,
Devil looked down at him he said
"Boy, what in the hell are you doin' here?"
And Johnny said
"I just came to sing my song sir"
And his song it said...

Why don't you heal
Me now

So now, nothing like this had ever happened ever
I mean not never never
For a kid to walk up to the Crossroads
Somewhere between here & nowhere
And sing a song to Satan??
So the devil just looked down at this boy and he said
"Boy, what in the hell did you just say to me?"
And Johnny said
"I ain't say nuthin' sir...
I just simply sang..."

Me now
So now, the strangest thing happened
I mean in that dark place w/ all those clouds
All of a sudden there parted a tiny space
And from that space in the twilight sky, there came a single ray of light
And that ray of light struck Satan dead in his heart
And for the first time in about an eon, a sound welled up...
And it sounded like...
I mean not never never
