Hate in America

I saw this on my boy Baratunde's FB page earlier today. If you don't already follow him you really should as he's one of the smartest & funniest commentators out there.

This particular video is not funny at all.  Honestly it has got to be one of the most frightening things I've seen in recent memory. This is precisely what I mean when I say the fueling of ignorance & intolerance by opportunistic political & media leaders in this is D-A-N-G-E-R-O-U-S. These people look like they're ready to kill this guy. And they don't even realize he's not a Muslim.  What if he were...

Here's the description posted on the video:

"A man walks through the crowd at the Ground Zero protest and is mistaken as a Muslim. The crowd turns on him and confronts him. The man in the blue hard hat calls him a coward and tries to fight him. The tall man who I think was one of the organizers tried to get between the two men. Later I caught up with the man who's name is Kenny. He is a Union carpenter who works at Ground Zero. We discussed what a scary moment that was for him. I told him that I hoped it did not ruin his day."

This is getting ugly folks. Let's not give the bigots any more excuses to spread these poisonous ideas. It's time to have the courage to stand up for the values our nation claims to hold so dear: liberty, equality and justice for all.  It is also time to call this stuff out for what it is: ignorance, hatred, racism & straight up stupidity.

DON'T.

BE.

STUPID.

For Obama's Sake

So my boy Baratunde just posted this video on his blog. It's from an interview outside the Clinton/Obama debate last week. The interviewer was a little rude at the beginning, but we made friends by the end. ;) Check it out:
