Friday, January 15, 2010 at 2:22PM This week we've all been struck by the tragedy that has befallen our neighbours in Haiti. There's been an amazing outpouring of support that is a real reflection of the best of who we are. There's also been some shameful nonsense, particularly the galling remarks of Rev Pat Robertson, who claims Haiti is suffering because she made a pact w/ the devil.
It is an embarasment to hear a supposed "man-of-God" make such an ignorant & hateful comment. But it struck me that with all the talk of Haiti being the "poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere," many of us don't know why Haiti is poor. It has nothing to do with the devil & everything to do with greed & slavery.

I made an exception in the case of Pat Robertson. The charity, @Compassion's CEO also said on Focus on the Family about 8 minutes 10 seconds into the interview on 1.19.2010 that one could feel evil and satan in Haiti before the earthquake, paraphrased.

Greetings: Derrick Ashong, I believe when traedgy hits different parts of the world it's the sign of times to allow some of the wealthy or the richest people to take heave to greed, and selfishness. Now please don't take this the wrong way, but Haiti is over due for help like other poor countries, God is tired of the wealth being store up for the rich although the bible say the poor you will have with you always. Now on another note it also say the wealth is also stored up for the just. Just in people that do not have. I think the world is crazy very warp, ignorant, without compassion. But this is the society that we live in, it's not base on giving, loving, and helping, and uniting. Life is good all the time, and sometimes life isn't fair. I see people in different surroundings take life for granted until a sign comes upon them or people we love. We still did not get the sign when Michael Jackson pass away, the world stood "Quiet" just for honor, honor that was overdue, but because of prejudice and bias people hanging him by his actions, and attributes became judgement. Nevertheless, we all will give an account in regards to now, or later. No one is exempt from any wicked ways or evil ways relating to how we treat our brothers and sisters or one another. Derrick I just wanted you to know getting back to your radio station I did try to log in, but it will not allow any of my emails. But what I wanted to say, Barack Obama has to sometimes get ulgy to allow Republicans or Democrates not to take advantage of his standards running this country. He may never satisfy the world, but he has to complete his task for presidency for the next two years. Thanking God for him being the first African American that has fulfilled the Dream of Martin Luther King. When it comes to poor and the rich we are family with different reasoning and certainty to come together too be united as one. Peace!
